Finally home after a pretty unusual week, not a bad week. Just unusual. I arrived yesterday in the afternoon at the Lineage warehouse in Conklin NY, but they were not able to get me unloaded early. Not a surprise really, I've been in this game for a while now.
I was directed to park in their nasty little gravel lot full of potholes filled with water, I tried to navigate slowly and try to avoid getting into any of them which was impossible, but the slow speed saved the day, or should I say my clean truck?
After a few hours of Netflix and some other computer work, I headed to bed, put the alarm for 3 am which is the time the receiving is opening. The alarm ringed and I jumped up ready to roll, but I was certainly not the only one thinking to check-in. The whole road up there was packed with semis.
After about 30-40 minutes of waiting for just a quarter mile or less from the parking area up to the guard shack, I was given a door.
5 hours later they called me to come to pick up my paperwork. I was finally done and could head back to Hazleton to get my next load to Walmart in Wintersville.
I don't know why I keep making that dumb mistake of going down 99 from 80 to US 22 when heading towards Wintersville, I guess it's the GPS, but the route is absolute hell unless you drive in the middle of the night. A million lights and they're all located at the end of a downhill plus a bunch of locals with no driving skills at all. Next time I'm just gonna head i80 all the way and go south down from Youngstown instead.
After arriving at Walmart and checking in the trailer, I found a new Koldtrans trailer and headed home, still on the 22 which turns into a windy hell, and a little while later finally back on some normal roads. I77 south then i70 west and home. Just after 10 pm I was home and parked.
