This week started with some fresh snow that came overnight from Sunday, but not too bad and I started like I normal would on a turkey load from Harrison.
The rest of the trip to Quakertown went pretty smooth, the snow kinda disappeared as I got further east and it eventually started to rain. Temperature was around 28-33 degrees, but the roads were good.
I had my usual break at the Somerset travel plaza, continued until I reached the company yard in Carlisle where I got a pretty quick shower. 2 hours later I arrived in Quakertown.
I was a little in doubt on where to stay overnight, so I called the customer to ask if they wanted to unload tonight instead of tomorrow which they obviously thought was a good idea.
A few minutes later I pulled in at the customer and got to a door. They didn't exactly work fast so about 7 hours later I was empty. I did sleep during this time. Once empty I moved my truck and slept for a few more hours in their driveway.
The next day I headed over to Walmart for some groceries when I got a pre-plan cancellation for my Massachusetts load. Instead I was going to the port to pick up a banana load to Walmart in Washington Courthouse.
I headed down to Pens Grove for a trailer washout, these turkey loads smell really bad so it's necessary with a wash. Headed back up to the port, checked in, paid the escort fee and waited a few minutes then was sent to door 95.
Getting loaded took forever, 2.5 hours to be exact, much longer than normal. I eventually got done and left, headed up Valley Forge on 76. About 40 minutes after I had left, almost in KoP they called me. They had screwed up and now they wanted me back. I couldn't believe it.
I turned around by the toll booths at KoP and headed back down, got into the same door and they replaced a few of the last skids on my truck.
By now I was really low on hours, they wasted 5 hours total down here already and I was getting seriously tired. Drove back to the Carlisle yard and shut down for the night.
