I got the Siemens load early this week cause somebody failed to pick it up. It was supposed to be picked up on Tuesday but was rescheduled to Wednesday at 5:00.
Assuming it was 11:00 as usual so got down there late. Dispatch from Indy called, and tried to stress me up and hurry, but I didn't.
When I got there by noon and they had no idea what load I should take and nothing was ready. So around 15:00 I was loaded up and ready to go.
My previous load was done a little too late last night, so I didn't make it to the truck wash which closes at 19:00. Because of this, I had to shut down early, but I made it to the rest area near Hebron Ohio around 23:00ish.
The next day was the winter storm everybody was talking about, it didn't seem to be much of a storm but it was a little icy on the roads but it wasn't really bad. The first half to Indiana the temperature was around 32° in ice rain which started to freeze up my wipers quite often, when I got past Dayton and into Indiana, the temperature dropped about 10° and it was much colder and much better driving conditions. Less icing on the wipers too.
Arriving at Siemens in Plainfield at 14:30. The place wasn't plowed at all so it was a little hard time to get into the ramp, but I eventually made it.
When I was empty I needed 2 chains to get out of there cause I was stuck at the ramp. I was told I was the only truck that made the delivery that day which made it all worth it lol
