I got some good sleep after my delivery last night, I went back to Diner 83 and slept until around 9. Woke up to a message from dispatch asking me to drop my empty at Abbott in Bethlehem.
After getting some food from the diner I started my trip up to Bethlehem to drop my trailer. It was an amazing day, dry roads and sunshine with a temperature in the mid to high 40s. Can't be any better than that in February. A couple hours later I arrived at Abbott, I dropped my trailer and bobtailed, which means driving without trailer, up to Hazleton. I took a backroad route I've done a few times before. After a million potholes and cracks with an average speed of 35mph I arrived in Hazleton.
When I checked in I learned that the load I was picking up was not preloaded, but a live load. At this point I started to get worried. I went in and talked to the people at the shipping/receiving office, and was told I could look for an empty trailer in the back, but I was out of luck, there were no empties here.
I called my dispatch to figure out if there are any empties in the area, and guess what, it was. The one i just dropped in Bethlehem.
At this point i was really tempted to refuse the whole load, but i went back and picked up my trailer, then headed back again. This time I drove the interstates, 81, 80, and 476.
After many hours wasted on this I was back and ready to get loaded, time was getting close to 18:00.
Now after sitting in the door for 3 hours to get my load, they have still not started and I won't make it down on time.
