Started off this morning from the company yard in Carlisle, but first, it was time for a truck wash. It's been a few weeks since the last, which is well overdue and also pretty embarrassing, I really dislike a dirty truck.
Made my way over to Quakertown with my newly washed truck, though it didn't look like that when I arrived.
I was actually pretty amazed how fast they unloaded me today, and when I was done I headed over to Walmart, for a few errands and a little nap. My next load was from the US Cold Storage in Hazleton to Unfi in York, delivery appointment was set for 1:00 am.
It didn't take me long from Quakertown to Hazleton, just roughly an hour, the traffic was light and the speed was maximum, which is 65mph, most of the way.
Before I went thru the check-in to drop my trailer it's always good to make sure your reefer fuel tank is at least 3/4 full, I couldn't really remember what it was, so better safe than sorry I headed into a local truck stop to get some more. With hindsight, I should probably have done a trailer washout before dropping it, but none seem to notice it before I was gone.
I was out of the place pretty quick of obvious reasons, and headed down to a Love's truck stop for some fuel and my first McDonalds meal in over a year, it didn't taste any better, I regretted it after my first bite, but the cold coke was great, I haven't had any since Sunday.
It's about 2 hours drive to York, maybe a little less depending on traffic and your speed. It was easy to get to, just off exit 28 on I83. The receiving didn't accept anything before midnight or an hour before appointment time, so I turned around and headed up to the 83 Diner. They usually charge for parking here, $25 for 24 hours or $10 for 6. I was just gonna stay right under 4 so I got it for free. I might come back after my delivery to finish my night here.
