A friend is visiting

This was a fun weekend and the week is too. My old friend from Norway is visiting me and he is joining me over the road for a few days. He arrived in Dayton on Saturday, unfortunately, the great weather we had last week is gone, but visiting the Air Force Museum in Dayton never goes wrong.

Bad tire?

I got a late start cause I drove all night to Columbus, but at noon I was ready for more. Headed down 71 to Harrison to pick up more turkey meat for the dog food factory in Quakertown, but on my way back after stopping at Love's on exit 118 for fuel I noticed my tire was low on air, it must ha...

Double turkey

I did an extra trip with turkey meat to the dog food factory in Quakertown this week, I got back to Ohio relatively early so I figured I'd ask for this and also add an extra day on my paycheck. Else I would end up doing some local stuff in Ohio or Indiana. Ugh, I hate Indiana!!

Unfortu...

Quakertown

I'm gonna try go back to updating this blog again. I'm still doing my Quakertown loads on Tuesdays, which is great. Winter is here and was a tough start of the day yesterday with lots of slow moving vehicles, but thank God for a left lane.

Lidl DC Perryville

I took my night outside the Turkey Hill gas station like I usually do cause my trailer wasn't ready and I was there a little too early and my hours were getting short.

I woke up at 5 AM this morning picked up my trailer and headed down towards the customer in Perryville. This is a new ...

Holiday weekend

With 4th of July almost over I headed down to Washington Courthouse for a delivery of bananas from Gloves Gloucester City NJ.

The appointment was 3am on Monday and my next load was from Kopp Turkey in Harrison to Quakertown PA

More turkey for the dogs

Another week and another load of turkey to Simmons in Quakertown. It started out with an empty fuel tank on the reefer trailer I was picking up in Harrison, with the temps way out of range. 43 degrees with a max of 28.

I contacted the people down there to figure out when it was loaded ...

Jack and Jill

After the usual Quakertown delivery, I took a 7/3 split to make sure I could get down to Swedesboro the same night to be ready for my 6 am delivery on Wednesday. I was actually supposed to go straight to Hazleton to pick it up after since it should have been ready by noon on Tuesday. It wasn't...

Quakertown

Started Monday with walking the dogs before dropping them off at the boarding place in Tipp City. Started pouring down soon after, but didn't last long.

At this point, I was an hour later out than usual, but no worries. When I got to Kopp Turkey around 11 two trailers were already load...

Escaping from rain

Had a good sunny weekend, was able to buy a polisher and a grinder so hopefully, I can start polishing the rims on the truck next week. It's really needed. I got up early Monday morning to get ready for another week on the road. The day was gloomy with grey clouds and it was pouring down. I le...

Late delivery in Quakertown

Was a great start to a new week, weekend was cut short because I decided to work Saturday.

This week I'm back in Quakertown and after here I'm heading up to Tyson in Pottsville for some frozen meat to Costco in Monroe township in New Jersey

Weekends work

Seems like I'm back at the dog food factory again, but this time on a Friday. I decided to work this weekend so I got this load back out east yesterday, delivering today. The delivery of Velvet ice cream yesterday took longer than expected so I got short on my 14, which had me park early in a ...

Velvet ice cream

I'm going with an ice cream load to a tourist attraction in Ohio, the place is called Velvet ice cream Ava is located in Utica OH just about 45 minutes northeast of Columbus Ohio.

I started yesterday delivering the Martin Brower load in Enfield CT, then drove 5 hours from there to Hazl...

Burris part 1

Because of the long day at the dog food factory, I got up to the cold storage later than planned, but my next load from here was supposed to be preloaded so no biggie, but it wasn't.

I had them make this load preloaded while I took my sleepover at turkey hill, I also did the same with ...

Sleepless weekend

Worked two-night shifts over the weekend then headed to Pennsylvania Monday morning. Literally no sleep since Sunday 1 pm until Monday 10 pm. At least my paycheck will look good this week.

I arrived early at Simmons in Quakertown on Tuesday. Slept really well last night and the day tur...

Dog food

Another day with more turkey stuff to become dog food. Left home as usual, around 8 and arrived in Harrison at 10. The trailer was already loaded and could just hook it up and go. I was doing good on time when things are like this. Sunny beautiful day had me in a good mood, bypassed the scale ...

Quakertown

I'm back with my Quakertown loads again, but this week I was also subject to a random drug test. I was called by my dispatcher Monday morning, wanting me to head into the office. No reason was given. Of course, that's a random drug test, but I've got nothing to fear.

I arrived at Kopp ...

Lindenhurst

Today I'm in Lindenhurst out on Long Island to deliver another load of ice cream. I was close to running out of hours last night at the cold storage in Hazleton so I asked to drop my trailer and take my sleep elsewhere, which was fine. The live load got turned into pre-load.

I headed o...

Indiana on a Monday

Some kind of maintenance at Kopp Turkey has me going to Indianapolis to load up for Sysco in Columbus.

It was nice to start a little later for a change. I left home around 11:30, picked up my trailer at Huber Heights, then headed towards Indianapolis.

I was loaded up fair...

C and S

Just done with another Tuesday, after delivering the turkey leftovers from Kopp to Simmons, I went up to the US Cold Storage in Hazleton.

My next trip was back to the well known C&S in Aberdeen, a huge mess of a customer to say at least, but sometimes you might have good luck...

Warmer weather

It was warmer weather in Dayton today, in the low 40, which is great after all these cold days.

Started at 8:00, went to pick up my trailer in Huber Heights as usual and headed down to Kopp turkey in Harrison, but the load wasn't ready. I waited until a few minutes past 11 before I cou...

Ice storm

This week started with some fresh snow that came overnight from Sunday, but not too bad and I started like I normal would on a turkey load from Harrison.

The rest of the trip to Quakertown went pretty smooth, the snow kinda disappeared as I got further east and it eventually started to...

Great Tuesday

Despite the crazy weather and the amounts of snow that came the last couple days this has been a great Tuesday. I delivered the Turkey carcasses on time in Quakertown at 10:00am. Got a low key stress free load that was dropped in the Carlisle yard bank to Jamesburg NJ. Now I got like 13 hour w...

Winterstorm 2021

A massive amount of snow is coming down, started on Sunday. Wasn't too bad in Ohio, but here on the east coast it's just insane. Expecting up to 20 inches by Tuesday.

I parked at Knight's Carlisle yard as I usually do on Mondays. The whole yard has close to a foot of snow and of course...
